Mr. Alan Mathis was born and raised in Moultrie, Georgia. After graduating from Colquitt County High School in 1984, he attended the United States Air Force Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1988. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Valdosta State University, completed the same year.
In 1989, Mr. Mathis joined the United States Navy, where he served his country until 2000. He then transitioned to the United States Naval Air Reserve, where he continued to serve until his retirement in 2009.In addition to his military career, Alan Mathis has been an entrepreneur, owning and operating Eagles of America, an airport and fixed base operations service. He has been a commercial pilot since 2004.
Throughout his aviation career, Mr. Mathis had the opportunity to attend the prestigious Naval Strike Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) in Fallon, Nevada. His military service also included five deployments and two extended deployments aboard several aircraft carriers, including the USS George Washington and the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
